- Project Manager Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation
On 15 January 2017, Sofie Stolwijk took up the post of project leader for the Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation. She works at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.
The first Delta Plan on Spatial Adaptation will be presented on Prinsjesdag 2017, the official opening of Parliament on Tuesday 19 September. This new Delta Plan, a component of the Delta Programme, is intended to give impetus to and intensify the addressing of spatial adaptation issues. This is essential, because the urgency of climate change is increasing. In order to achieve such impetus, the joint Delta Programme partners are setting down agreements on interim targets and procedures in this Delta Plan.
Sofie holds degrees in chemistry and public administration. She has formerly worked as a project leader and consultant at Rijkswaterstaat, the executive agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, and as a senior policy advisor at the Ministry focusing on water policy. In recent years, Sofie served as Secretary to the Advisory Committee on Water, an independent committee that advises the Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment.
