Lilianne van Sprundel was appointed to the Delta Programme Commissioner´s staff in July 2015. Since 2012, she has been involved in the Delta Programme in her capacity of staff member of the Directorate-General for Spatial Development and Water Affairs of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. In 2014, she was project leader for the interim amendment of the National Water Plan, that set down the national policy ensuing from the five Delta Decisions outlined in the 2015 Delta Programme.

In the new organisational structure of the Delta Programme, Lilianne and Adriënne van de Sar are responsible for liaising and maintaining contact with the regional and national administrative consortiums and all the parties involved. At the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment,

Lilianne previously worked for the Room for the River programme and served as project leader to the Priority Weak Links on the Coast project. She has also worked on the Southwest Delta in various positions, including that of Dutch secretary to the Flemish-Dutch Schelde Committee. She was also involved in the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and bore primary responsibility for the “Water in beeld” report. Before that, she worked for the Zuid-Holland Directorate of Rijkswaterstaat, where she contributed to drawing up the environmental impact assessment of the Haringvliet sluices.
